Air Niugini expands freighter network with new service to the Southern Highlands

Air Niugini expanded its freighter services in the country with a maiden flight to the Komo Airfields in Southern Highlands on its ATR42 aircraft on Sunday 01st September 2013.

The charter operation by CBI Clough Joint Venture was to uplift construction equipment for the LNG site and the new airfield enabled full payload.

Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Simon Foo said the airline is committed to supporting and meeting the demand of PNG business community and its people. He said:

“As we continue to improve our facilities and services, we will also enhance and expand our freighter operations throughout the country.”

The addition of Komo now brings to total nine ports within the country that Air Niugini operates freighter services to.

The other domestic ports are Lae, Mt Hagen, Rabaul, Hoskins, Moro, Vanimo, Madang, Manus and Lihir. Air Niugini also operates freighter services to Buka, Tari, Goroka, Tabubil and Gurney as and when required.
